Small Website Details That Make Your Business Look Professional

When someone saves your website to their iPhone home screen, what do they see? A polished icon or a blank square? These are the small details that separate professional sites from amateur ones.

The difference between a website that looks professional and one that looks thrown together is not the hero image or the color palette. It is the details: the icon that appears when someone bookmarks your site on an iPhone. The metadata that controls how your link looks when shared on social media. The loading behavior that determines whether visitors see a flash of unstyled text.

Apple touch icons are the 180x180 pixel images that appear when someone adds your site to their iPhone home screen. Without one, iOS shows a tiny screenshot or a blank square. Both signal "this business did not invest in their digital presence."

We add these to every client site as standard. A polished icon on the home screen communicates that this is a real business with real infrastructure. The implementation takes five minutes, but the signal is disproportionate.

This is one of dozens of "last 2%" details we build into every site. Individually, each one is trivial. Collectively, they create the impression that your website was built by people who care about every pixel. Your clients notice. More importantly, their clients notice.
