Two Buttons in Your Hero Section Might Be Killing Conversions
When your homepage hero has two call-to-action buttons with the same visual weight, visitors freeze. They have to choose before they have been convinced. The result is higher bounce rates.
Your homepage hero is the first thing visitors see. It has one job: move the visitor to the next step. When that hero has two buttons with equal visual weight ("Book a Call" and "Learn More"), visitors have to make a decision before you have given them a reason to act. More choices means longer decision time and higher bounce rates.
Pick one primary action. Give it the strongest visual treatment: filled background, contrasting color, larger size. Demote the secondary action to a text link, a smaller outline button, or remove it entirely. If your hero needs two equally weighted buttons, the hero messaging is not doing its job.
This principle extends beyond the hero. If multiple sections on your page have competing CTAs, the visitor's attention fragments throughout the entire scroll. One clear path converts better than five options.
